Living in Wroclaw and Düsseldorf, I was able to realize the importance of nature and its presence in our daily lives. When for us everything seemed chaotic, nature continued its cycles. When everything seems to corner us, a walk by the river helps to breathe again. The waters of the Odra river that have always run and continue to flow saved me more than once.

Belo Horizonte, the city where I was born and raised, is also a city of rivers. Unfortunately, we only witness its waters when the pipelines explode, overflowing the concreted city. I grew up looking at the contaminated and concreted, Ribeirão Arrudas river, through car windows, wandering to a time where the river was a place for diving… Time passes and our rivers continue being threatened more and more.

Water, vital to all life, is also a part of our own existence. It keeps teaching us about the rhythms of life. It respects its cycles and phases to flow in abundance.

A few years ago I watched a video that presented me with a lesson that I’ll never forget: “Be water, my friend”. In the words of Bruce Lee, water is adaptable, takes any shape, and adapts to any surface. It is only temporarily static and immediately returns to flow. It changes states to move or to preserve itself. The smoothly flowing water can also be powerful and carve through its way.

If water is for diving, our body is a river. And following the flow of life is to dive attentively, without fear, and with surrender. This collection of jewelry comes to reminds us to choose to dive into ourselves every day with courage, learning to flow and to carve our way, like a river. And like water, to adapt, to shelter, and to transform us, whenever necessary.

In this collection, I chose to work with fabrics that have fallen into disuse, rescuing the potential of this raw material and the preciousness of the object it integrates when resignified. The collection includes home decor, wearable art, and contemporary jewelry.

The jewels in this collection were made from reused materials: old clothing, pillow stuffing, scraps of fabric and thread.
